Hi Rick,We are getting ready to order a tank from Triple M. Did all of the hose connections line up with the originals and did everything fit in the same as tyhe old one? Thanks for being the guinea pig.Tim
I'm actually the second one to do the install. The connections fit 'well enough' since the connections to the heads, vent and discharge are soft-mounted, so they will tolerate some variance. I cut the 1 1/2" pipe connectors just at the end of the tank-side fitting and then used regular 1 1/2" threaded connctors and some pipe and wed the two parts using stainless covered neoprene connectors that simply clamp over the pipe. Home depot stuff. Worked well. There are probably many other ways to do it. The tank is made to Hunter's specs, so I didn't expect a problem and there was none. Good luck: Rick D.
I notice you are in Long Beach, CA, so give me a call before you do the install. You can catch me in the owners' directory. BTW, I'm moving to the downtown marina in a couple of months. I figure after 35 years in MDR, I'm due for a change...
...my mooring is in Cat Harbor, so I think I'll be giving up a good sail over for a motor over... What do you guys do going to Cat? I suppose I could motor over to Pt. Vincente and then sail from there. RD
We used to have our boat in San Pedro and had good sailing from there. We would motor the first hour and as we'd get farther out, the wind would be at an angle for close haul sailing. So you might wish to exit LA harbor up at Angels's Gate.By the way, we do get some wild broad reach rides coming back from the island. It can be blowing 10 out in the middle and then climb to 20-25 close to San Pedro and Long Beach in the afternoons.
