Rick D-Live and in the flesh!

Rick D and his lovely wife Marlyn were in Minnesota this week and were kind enough to let me know. An outing was arranged and we met this evening at one of my favorite watering holes and had an outstanding time. Marlyn was a delight and Rick was not bad either. It was so great to meet someone in person I had long ago considered a friend. I am attaching a photo taken tonight to prove it.

By the way, I stuck Rick with the tab. Cheered me up immensely.

Rick, you lucky dog! And you too POTL. I have been fortunate over the years to learn that our members are really as nice as they seem here on SBO. Two or three of my very best friends are people that I met here. When I met them in person they didn't always look like I expected. But you get a sense of who they are and I have never been disappointed. I probably know and have at least had dinner or lunch with twenty or more over the twelve years I have hung out here. Then there are a few whom I have never met but would consider friends through regular e-mails. This is really a great forum. Rick D and Princess help make it so.

You are so right! I felt as if I had known Rick and Marlyn for years and if possible, Rick was even nicer (and funnier) than I had imagined. It really was one of the nicest evenings I have had in a long time.
Scott-You are right too, Rick is a lucky guy. Marlyn is lovely and funny and smart. LUcky guy.

That Was Great Fun!

We enjoyed ourselves immensely. We have also made many friends here on SBO and hope to meet more. When we travel, we always look up people registered here to say hello.

Ooh, one last thing. Rick challenged me to a Beef Stew throwdown. He claims his is the best but I think I have something to show him. Not sure when this is going to happen but stay tuned.
