Hi all,

Just had a unique situation happen to a friend yesterday while here in the Abacos. His heart has a history of A-fib and he felt it race a little. Sleeping on it didn't help so in the early AM they took the ferry to Marsh Harbor Clinic. The next step was a flight to Nassau Med Center and it was decided to send him to Miami. So waiting in line for the flight he feels better and sure enough the old heart is back in rhythm. (Might have been the deep cavity search).
Lucky him that it worked out well. They also have insurance to cover getting back to the states. Anyone else using this?

Maybe we can make TSA part of the new national health care strategy.... There are probably a lot of things a deep cavity search would cure....:yikes:

Good idea.

But remember: when this happens, they get you to the CLOSEST appropriate care in the CUSA. Where ever this is. If you are in Mexico or the western Carib, you'll probably end up in the excellent care of my friend Dr Gustavo in San Antonio.

What you do and how you get there after you get better is on you.

my only insurance to bring me "back" home from foreign countries - stipulates I must ride in a box in the cargo section. :)

So would it be the nearest hospital?

All U Get
The nearest place you can get appropriate care. Most of these outfits have a list of places based on the type of care needed.

Got the full story yesterday as our friends finally sailed over from Man o War. They were rolling down the runway in a plane from Marsh Harbor to Nassau when his heart rhythm bounced back to normal. It never did an autocorrect before. Of course they couldn't get a return flight until the next morning.
So for now they have saved the receipts and made contact with their " DAN" insurance provider. They were pretty happy just to get back.

I used to go through these same symptoms, for years every once and a while my heart would go out of rhythm ramping up to near 200 bpm, as I aged the conditioned arose more frequently and would last longer the last of which I ended up in hospital over night.
I elected to go through heart ablation where they burned nerve ending off the heart muscle, that was almost (5) years ago now and I have not had an incident since then, thank the good Lord for that. I hope that your friend understands that this will occur again and as time passes in may not auto correct as you stated.
This relatively common condition known as SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) which for those effected could lead to stroke especially as we age. There are methods to attempt to stop the accelerated heart rate such as bearing down (pushing out the lower abdominal muscles), coughing and few others which have limited effectiveness.

Dammit! As a child of the 80's, I thought this thread was going to be about Grace Jones!

I'll pass it on but I think he's had this talk with his Dr.

This was from a 2004 benefit concert for the Prince's Trust, honoring producer Trevor Horn. There were appearances by notable bands Horn produced, such as Grace Jones, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Yes (with Trevor Rabin,) ABC, the Pet Shop Boys, T.a.T.u., Propaganda, Art of Noice, and Seal. I have the DVD; it was an outstanding concert!
