The're alot of boat in 22 feet
I researched these boats before purchasing my 22' Catalina although I never had the opportunity to sail one. The Rhodes has impressive numbers on the water: D/LWL of 162 instead of 142, SA/D about 16.5, constructed well, laid out well. All this and a 6 knot hull speed to boot. If the boat I was seeking would have been left in the water and if trailering was not at issue, I would have tried for one. Cost and weight went against it for me, my C-22 Mk 2 is more tender, has a workmanlike build and finish, you reef earlier, and has a very open belowdecks design, but for trailering, for the price, for my waters, it works fine. Once you get a reef in her C-22's are well behaved in 25 knots. If you are gunkholing you may not need the seaworthiness and build quality. As a sailboat is is pretty hard to fault them.
