Anyone ever try a non skid coating called rhino hide, I attached the appropriate link. I seems like it more like durabeck (Duraback) than the sand mixes?

Agreed, need actual experience.

These non-skids are difficult to select unless you have actually walked on an application. I sent for the Durabak samples and they were kind of small. But they looked too aggressive for my taste. And they cost too much to try yourself, $150. for 60 square feet! I did buy a quart of Interlux Interdeck. I just did the anchor locker hatch. I was quite pleased with the result(picture). I just used that cheap brush. Unfortunately you can not see or feel the texture. It is very good I think. But the First Mate did not like my color selection. I think I am going to go ahead with it but in the original gray color.

Check the site

the $150 price seems steep i agree but if you go to the rhino hide site you see that the price for the actual material is about $19 qt which is in line with other stuff that does the same thing. i think the agressive nature of the material might be a plus on the deck but i haven't really seen the product but will be ordering some to use in my GHEENOE as a test bed. might use the stuff on the deck and something different on the seating areas in the cockpit.. will give an update after i try it myself

I did a little more checking on rhino hide, they want $10.00 for a color chart, for thier products, I think I will look elsewhere.......

Interlux

Bob I agree with Ed Schenck but I used Interlux Brightside, Seattle Grey, and mixed in Interlux glass grit. The grit comes in a small bottle for about $18.00. The brightside was about $20.00 per quart. The trick was to mix the grit very well into the paint. I put it on with a 4" roller with a smooth knap. It has now been three years I think and there is no wear. The grit is strong enough to grind running shoes down and it drys very quickly. I highly recommend it. The hardest part is masking the deck. That took twice as long as the painting. Fair winds. Don

deck paint

I painted the entire nonskid area of the deck and cockpit on my hunter 30 last spring ,for two coats I used 3 quarts of interlux interdeck gray over gray applied with a brush it has held up very well after an extended season of daily use.
