High Tech RF Sails
Jim, Roller furlers are generally very kind to all types of sail cloth. "Stiff" sail cloth such as racing dacrons and some of the heavier cruising laminates really don't react well to being creased. This is why you will see many racers rolling as opposed to folding their stiff dacron racing sails. Furlers tend to roll the sails up with minimal creasing. For this reason I feel that a furler actually will extend the lifespan of a sail. Thanks, Bill C. Doyle Sails
