Top Priority

I thinking about changing boats. I need something that can manuever in a marina better and I don't like water ballast. Can anyone give me a review of the new Hunter 25 and option suggestions? Thanks much.

Hone your skills ...

do not expect a boat to do it for you. I can spin an H-27 in its axis, just because the prop the walk is very strong. Use your boat's characteristics to your advantage.

Use the forces

Yes learn how to use the available forces that makes your boat move around - the wind, the propeller in forward and reverse and the rudder. Use some time training towards a suitable bouy - to approach it forward, alongside and backwards in various wind directions. Every boat has its own ways of reacting to the current conditions, so whatever you chose, you have to learn how your boat will move. And - take it slowly and if it didn't come out your way the first time - do it again - it doesn't matter if the people around thinks that you're a no gooder at sea - as long as you get yourself and the boat where you want it - in one piece. good luck toomas / Celeste

motort /rudder connection

Make or obtain commercial system that has a bar which ties your rudder to your motor. Makes all the difference when trying to move your boat in tight situations. There is discussion of this idea somewhere on this website.
