Hello sailors, I have for quite some tiem problems with my reverse trust. My motor, 3Ohp gas Universal, boat year I979.I understand there is a prpp on the market for appr. 200.00$ and the company claims the reverse is 80 % more efficient.Anybody on the high sea who can verify this claim or can come up with an inexpensive mode to improve the reverse as well as forward thrust.I appreciate your response to this matter.Ahoi, Hans

Reverse thrust

Hans, Don't know where you heard about an improved propeller for $200. That's about what you'd pay for a conventional 2 blade prop for your boat. To get the kind of improvement you're looking for, you need to go to something like a Max-Prop or Auto-Prop. The Max-Prop claims a 90% improvement in reverse thrust. It will set you back about $1200. An Auto-Prop is even more efficent, both in forward or reverse, but it will cost over $2000.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. It's not all that bad, though. I thought enough of the Auto-Prop to buy one for my new C36.

you must be talking about that plastic prop

I have heard nice things about that plastic prop designed specifically for atomic 4 motors. This sail list I belong to love them. I have a folding prop so what is reverse anyway? I think those props are really about 200.00 or so.Richard
