Hello sailors, I have for quite some tiem problems with my reverse trust. My motor, 3Ohp gas Universal, boat year I979.I understand there is a prpp on the market for appr. 200.00$ and the company claims the reverse is 80 % more efficient. Anybody on the high sea who can verify this claim or can come up with an inexpensive mode to improve the reverse as well as forward thrust. I appreciate your response to this matter. Ahoi, Hans

Reverse thrust

Hans, Don't know where you heard about an improved propeller for $200. That's about what you'd pay for a conventional 2 blade prop for your boat. To get the kind of improvement you're looking for, you need to go to something like a Max-Prop or Auto-Prop. The Max-Prop claims a 90% improvement in reverse thrust. It will set you back about $1200. An Auto-Prop is even more efficent, both in forward or reverse, but it will cost over $2000. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. It's not all that bad, though. I thought enough of the Auto-Prop to buy one for my new C36.

you must be talking about that plastic prop

I have heard nice things about that plastic prop designed specifically for atomic 4 motors. This sail list I belong to love them. I have a folding prop so what is reverse anyway? I think those props are really about 200.00 or so. Richard
