While working on spring commisioning I was plugged into AC outlet at the boat yard. I noticed that the Reverse Polarity light on my display panel came on. It has never happened before (8 years). I'm curious as to why this would suddenly occur. I had been connected to AC for at least 4 other days prior to this and no indicator lights came on. Everything is connected as it has always been in the past. I will appreciate anyones comments. Thanks

Sounds like...

Sound like they may have been playing with the AC lines going to where you are plugged in. There also could be a short on the AC side of the panel. Hope that helps. Bruce. Neon Moon

Loose Connection?

I once had my reverse polarity alarm go off due to a loose connection at the dockside hookup. I never realized AC was that tempermental.

AC feeding through ground

Check to see if your AC power is feeding through the ground conductor instead of the neutral. This happened on my Hunter 30 when the pushbutton circuit breaker near the onboard shorepower connection tripped on the neutral leg.
