Hello, I wanted to know if anyone has had any problems related to "Reverse Polarity". My 336 started giving this problem after I put on the microwave with the heater on and also the outlets. My guess is probably the circuit got overloaded. Not sure if there is a reset switch or a circuit braker. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Amir

Amir, I also have had a similar problem on my 336 with the "reverse polarity" light. While it did not come on it did have a faint glow only visiable at night when a lot of power was being used, it would go away as you lowered the power draw. Turned out the connection were a little dirty and need cleaned, cleaned them up and have not had any problems. there should be a "test" button next to the light to check it.Look there also for bad or dirty connections. Good Luck !

connections to check

I checked and cleaned the battery connections, the connections at the battery switch, the dock power and well as the boat shore power connection.I also checked and cleaned the connections at the panel for the light and switch. Disconnect power before removing wires for safety.Hope this helps!

Clarification to Reverse Polarity

Thanks for all the responses. I will try to check the connections and see if cleaning helps. My problem is that when the reverse polarity light goes on, I cannot use the AC at all. As soon as I turn the outlets or heater switch on, it goes back to off. I have also asked the MArina to check their shore power. Will keep you all posted

Short

I had the problem off and on for a couple of years on my 340 from the day it was new. I thought the problem was with the shore power. It wasn't. It was a short in the electrical panel above the nave station. This problem was with the boat from when it was new and progressively got worse. Finally, I had no AC at all, naturally it was after the warranty ran out. It cost me $500 to have all the wiring checked and the short fixed. It works fine now. But the fact of the matter is that once the electrical panel was removed, it was obvious where the short was due to poor workmanship in wiring the circuits.

Reset Switch

Onthe 336 there is a reset switch located on the panel that has the battey switch mounted on it in the starboard locker. Should be labeled.

short again

Looks like I have a short in the AC circuit. How did you go about identifying the short?
