For those of you who know me, Many of you know that I retired from the maine industry.
For reasons only to me, it was a good decision as I am now 61. Am I still Crazy Dave? Yes as I respect that term. The last Annapolis sailboat show was on a Hunter 27 Edge water ballast in 2009. The Annapolis Harbor is a no wake zone. When leaving, I was encouraged to put the metal to the pedal with the 75 hp on the back of the boater and the roar from the crowd was enourmous. Of course I sloshed water onto the Harbor patrol boat and then came them as well as DNR. I in my usual charm got out of a ticket only if they had known I had been in that show for nearly 30 years. That was my way of leaving the show as a dealer with a good laugh ending a long time career.
This fall, I have climbed the highest montain in VA and the second highest mt. in the Smokey Mt. range and yes I did make it. Wonderful views and met alot of wonderful and interesting folks. I have a small used camper and we are primarily going to the mountains in VA and NC. In addition, we are biking old abandoned railroad spurs to include the VA Creeper trail. I am involved in a n scale model train club.
However, I have spent alot of time rebuilding daysailor fleets at Boy Scout Camps and this is what I am enjoying and to me this is important. At one camp, I did not experience a phone, cell phone, computer, TV and radio, I enjoyed relaxing and sitting on cabin porch every evening looking at the stars. One evening a couple of black bears passed by but that was ok as long as they stayed their distance.
If any of my old customers and friends wish to contact me, email is davecondon@mindspring.com . Ok, got to run now. Calm seas, fair winds, smooth sailing and God Bless.
