For those of you who know me, Many of you know that I retired from the maine industry.
For reasons only to me, it was a good decision as I am now 61. Am I still Crazy Dave? Yes as I respect that term. The last Annapolis sailboat show was on a Hunter 27 Edge water ballast in 2009. The Annapolis Harbor is a no wake zone. When leaving, I was encouraged to put the metal to the pedal with the 75 hp on the back of the boater and the roar from the crowd was enourmous. Of course I sloshed water onto the Harbor patrol boat and then came them as well as DNR. I in my usual charm got out of a ticket only if they had known I had been in that show for nearly 30 years. That was my way of leaving the show as a dealer with a good laugh ending a long time career.

This fall, I have climbed the highest montain in VA and the second highest mt. in the Smokey Mt. range and yes I did make it. Wonderful views and met alot of wonderful and interesting folks. I have a small used camper and we are primarily going to the mountains in VA and NC. In addition, we are biking old abandoned railroad spurs to include the VA Creeper trail. I am involved in a n scale model train club.

However, I have spent alot of time rebuilding daysailor fleets at Boy Scout Camps and this is what I am enjoying and to me this is important. At one camp, I did not experience a phone, cell phone, computer, TV and radio, I enjoyed relaxing and sitting on cabin porch every evening looking at the stars. One evening a couple of black bears passed by but that was ok as long as they stayed their distance.

If any of my old customers and friends wish to contact me, email is davecondon@mindspring.com . Ok, got to run now. Calm seas, fair winds, smooth sailing and God Bless.

Crazy Dave

Goiod on ya. I've been out 16 years. Never looked back.
Hear people all the time plotting retirement. Never heard anyone say "sorry, I should have worked longer".

Dave, I wish I had known you earlier. You seem just the chap to have around, with your knowledge base, you are most valuable. A sense of humor to top it off with, as well! Congratulations on your retirement. I admire anyone that can do it, you certainly sound like you deserve it. Keep your commens and helpful advice coming, I am sure everyone will benfit by it.

Hey Crazy Dave:

It's been a while but I couldn't pass up this opportunity to congratulate you on your retirement. I hope that doesn't prevent you from hanging around here at HOW. Have a blast my friend and remember it's always more fun if you keep the keel side down.

Best regards,
Peter Suah

Peter, I am actually working harder doing those years of honey dos but I am enjoying iwth the support of my lovely bride the volunteer work at the boy scout camps rebuilding their sailboat fleets.

It sure has been too long to stay away and even Phil was glad to see me back. Never heard back from the Head Mistress. I guess she has alot going on. By the way, I am still crazy as a loon! Ha.

Enjoy Your Retirement

Dave, Many thanks for your tips and help over the years. Although it has been several years since we last met in person or talked, I have appreciated greatly your sailboat advice. I only wish I could retire and sail off into the sunset - Work gets in the way of good sailing time.

Goshen Scout Camp west of Lexington, Va (National Area District Council -Wash. DC)
Camp Ottari east of Radford, VA (Blue Ridge Mt. Council)
Claytor Lake Camp east of Radford, VA (Blue Ridge Mt. Council)

I have spent nearly two months this year alone. I am doing this for the Scouts and what good use of my talents it is going for. My hope is to work at The Summit near Fayetteville, WV which is the new site for the National Jamboree.
