Restore shine to old gel coat.... uh, suggestions?

Extremely easy! If you've ever used Quick Wax detailer on your vehicle between seasonal waxes, it's very similar. A simple wash down with the poliprep and scrub pad then let it dry. Using the damp mitt, adding a couple squirts of the poliglow prior to each layer, just wipe it on. One direction is best, as it helps keep out any bubbles. I ended up doing 4-5ft sections at a time. Very little effort as you're just wiping it on with no pressure (which can create bubbles). The hardest part was waiting between each layer of poliglow. If you're working both sides of the hull it's plenty of time in between and it speeds the time to completion.
This may sound a bit odd, but it has worked for me. Get some rust remover that has phosphoric acid (the green stuff) and paint it on. Wait 5 minutes and then hose off. You will see the very top layer of gelcoat wash away. Works pretty much the same on stainless steel too if you apply it liberally and let it soak for 20 minutes and then rinse.
