Resealing Thru-Hulls

Earlier someone posted that it would be best to reseal the thru-hulls if you haven't had the boat in the water for a long time. I have an 84 that I bought from someone, who bought it from someone, who...so I have no idea what shape the thru-hulls are in. Anyway, I want to make sure all is well sealed for my first sailing next year. How do I go about resealing the thru-hulls? Thanks, Robbin

hello robbin, if water is not leaking in, you don't need to seal anything. put it in the water and then check for leaks, if you can put several gallons of water over through hulls, you can lay under the boat and look for leaks good luck john
