i bought one of the last model 380s, hull #379 2003. my marina neighbors had just taken delivery of a new beneteau. when they saw our new cat 380, they traded their beneteau for a catlaina 387. they love it, and there are some cool features (highly polished ports, a slide out trash can, removable dinette table, teak and holly in the galley. however, what is missing are stainless handrails over the companionway, coaming boxes, island above the sink, dual sheeting for the mainsheet, 2 large storage areas on either side of the queen centerline bed. this is the question. do you think it is possible that just one time in our lives, we bought a boat that will hold its value or, dare i say it, appreciate in value based on the fact that the 387 might be considered less than the 380 in terms of features and ammenities?
