I just completed a repower of my '76 Hunter 30. I used a Vetus m2.06 and a 13x9 prop. At 3,000 rpm I am getting 6.5knts in a choppy sea, 5knts at 2,000 rpm in a choppy sea, 5.5knts in the canal.

If anyone wants details of the repower drop me a line.

That's Great!

I'll be interested to hear how you do with the Vetus engine. As I understand they are based on Mitsubishi engines.

Just as point of comparison: My 1983 Hunter 33 with a clean bottom and three blade prop, with the 3GM30F in place of the original 2GM20 in calm water: I've seen 6.9 -7.1 knots on the GPS at 3400 RPM. 2750 cruising was about 6 knots. I'm told that in 6 to 8 foot seas into a 30 knot head wind it dropped to about 2 knots. I was too sick to see for myself.

It sounds like your Vetus is doing VERY well.
