As anyone ever re-powered a P32 while residing on Boston's south shore? Not to specific, right?

I am contemplating moving up from the Universal 5411 to a Yanmar 3YM20. Curious if anyone has any experience. Trying to ward off any crazy. And yes, I have quotes, so am familiar with the ridiculous cost. Just more curious with the experience and hidden surprises, if any.

Cheers,

Ed

Funny you should mention. I haven't heard great things about Beta, though I don't know anyone who has one.

In any event, just had someone else take a look. Asked for a quote for both the 3YM20 and the 20hp Beta. Interestingly, the engine beds are narrower (14") port to starboard than the mounts on either the Yanmar (14.6") or Beta (14.5). So I'll likely have some rebuilding of the beds. Going to be an interesting fall.

the beta is what I understand to be a marinized Kabutu (sp). Access and placement of filters etc are suppose to be nice. Dealer in Conn named Joe DeMers of Sound Marine

real helpful guy. Like I said I love my Yanmar coming from a Westerbeke but hear good things about Beta.

Good Luck.

Pearson 32 Rimouski
Hello,
Brand new to the forum. I have the same Pearson and the same Universal and I'm really thinking of upgrading as well. Could you tell me how it went and share any information about what went well and what you would do differently if you had to do it again.
Many thanks
