That might be a difficult installation. You will have to deal with engine rails that are both too wide and the wrong angle I think. The older Yanmars were wider. You can see what I did when I installed a newer Yanmar: http://hunter.sailboatowners.com/in...&cat_id=38&aid=7456&page=article&mn=37-cutter . It was either rebuild the rails or modify the mounts. But I did not have to deal with an angle change.

You need to take some really accurate measurements. See if is even possible to allign the Volvo so the shaft is centered in the stern tube. Worst case would be if you had to lower the rails. All of this is worth the effort if you got a good deal on the Volvo.

angle

the measurements center on center on the mounts for and aft is the same port and stbd is a half inch narrower on the volvo lots of room vertically and the o/a length is 1 3/4 inches longer on the volvo so i thought it would be a cake walk until i realized the output shaft was angled downward instead of straight which is a good idea for a new install but not so great for a repower....live and learn...i have to build a jig and find out first hand just thought someone on here might have gone thru this already.
