I had my H37C out for a few weeks at SailCraft in Oriental, NC. Good people, did a great job rebuilding my rudder. I did a lot of my own work while there.

I suspect that many yards are not going to be keen about you helping out and doing some of the work yourself. My guess is they'll either want to do the whole job or let you do the whole thing yourself.
First off there are injury/liability/insurance issues.
Second, a good yard will warranty their work and by doing some of the work yourself you really muddy the waters if something goes wrong.

A repower is not difficult. I did my own except for the lifting out and back in. The yard, Lake Erie, did that with their rack fork lift. Took them all of thirty minutes. It did help that I bought the new Yanmar through them.
I welded up a 'U' bracket to straddle the companionway but still keep the weight centered. Then out came the old 2QM20 with the help of Mark.

Did you go back in with the same eninge? Somewhere in the future I plan to re-power from my original Yanmar 15 hp to a new Yanmar 30 hp.

You do not need to haul the boat to pull the motor. I assisted a Pearson Owner with his last summer.

Is Keiffer's question for me? Anyway, no. I replaced the 2QM20 with a new 3YM30. Most of that replacement is documented in "Hunter Owners Mods" under the "H37-Cutter".
