Can anyone give me some info or advise on pulling out the renault 8 hp desiel and replacing it with a Universal 5411 on a 1980 h27.

Why?

I had a 1980 H-27 with the little Renault and it was bullet proof and with a 3 bladed prop, did a good job of pushing the boat. Typically the GPS would indicate 7.2 mph on the average. If yours is broke, why not talk to the Renault guy in Texas?Don

Why Change?

Why change the Renault if it is running correctly? I can vouch for Don Bodeman's Hunter 27 because I bought it from him. The Renault engine has never failed me; it has saved me embarrassment several times.

When the rc8 goes

I have another engine to drop in. I suspect installing an engine I can easily get parts for is a better idea than having to have parts fabricated for the rc8. What size three blade prop was installed?
