My Ericson 27' has been powered by a Yanmar YSB8. I am told the motor is beyond repair because replacemet parts are not available from Yanmar. The engine needs a new crankshaft, connecting rod, and transmission. Parts are not available from Yanmar due to the age of the engine. I have been advised to repower the boat with a new engine. Does anyone know if there is a secondary market with used parts for a Yanmar YSB8? If I need to repower with a different engine, does anyone have advise about a possible type of used engine that might be suitable rather than having to purchase a new engine. Help is greatly appreciated.
