Hey Everybody! We have gotten several e-mails about the difficulty of finding this photo-essay and so we decided to repost it with the link... we have just finished downloading the third part in our little series and hope to have it online in about a week or so. Part 3 will include the East Coast of Florida and Georgia as we cruised in our 25.5 through this past Spring. We are currently living in St. Augustine and until the end of hurricane season and plan to make a few changes to 'Empty Pocket' during the month of October. I will be posting an article including many photos of some of the changes/features aboard 'Empty Pocket' later this fall. See you all soon! Brian and Steph

Really Enjoying Life Isn't All About $$$

It makes me feel good to read about your adventures because you're getting out there and having a great time. There are those on much larger and expensive boat that aren't having near the fun time you guys are. There are many of us wait until we can afford our dream boat (or near-dream boat) and by then age has gradually taken it's toll. We think we can do it "later" when we're more financially secure but what happens is the body isn't as spry as it once was. You can't stay up those long hours on a passage as well as when you were younger, and the body develops aches and pains more than it used to. By going now you're creating memories that can never be taken away, no matter what happens later, and that's good. Looking back, some of the most memorable trips we've had were in our 16-foot daysailer. Sure, we've been all over the Northwest including Alaska with our 35-footer and had some really great memories, but that little Falcon 16 (which we still own) are some of the best. We're looking forward to your next installment. By the way, I like the way you set up your watermaker! One has to say that was a very efficient use of space. I don't know too many people who would have thought of doing it that way.

Nice...very nice

1st let me say that I am not a Hunter owner but your photo essay has changed my mind. My wife and I sail a Catalina 22 (1st boat, 1st time sailors). We have discussed making some cruises in the Guld of Mexico and around Florida. As a new High School teacher we find there will be time in the summer for some sailing activities. I would like to email you off this board to learn about what you found form your cruises, ie, things you would do over and things you found you would not do again. I am at rgallagher at wisd dot org.
