I recently bought a 320 on which the port side windows were cracked and leaking. The previous owner had used screws to hold the pane in place when installing the windows. The windows cracked around the screws.

Has anyone had experience replacing these windows without the use of screws. I would love some quick input. I am trying to get the windows replaced before the Seattle rain sets in. Thanks

Screws should not have been used at all. Stu has posted the proper procedure for window relpacement on a curved hull. Use cardboard to make templates for the plywood holding jigs and you can reduce the cut and trim work to make them fit properly.

If you proceed with this project, please take copious notes and hi-res pictures. I'm the C-320 Association technical editor for Mainsheet magazine and would be delighted to assist you in authoring an article to be featured in the technical pullout section. Please email me if you're interested.

I have use the Dow 795 and the bond between plexiglass and almost any surface very, very strong. I did a small test piece and I couldn't pull it apart by hand. No screws are needed.
