Our 1991 P42 came with a Maxwell horizontal below deck windlass with gypsy (5/16th G4 chain) and drum (5/8th three strand nylon) . It powers in only with a foot switch at the windlass. It has always worked, very strong and easy to operate. Do not have the model at hand, but Maxwell can advise/recommend the model for your boat. Whatever brand you currently have will dictate to some degree your choice of replacement. It might help to know why you need to replace what you have.
