Replacing wheel nut, C&C 30 Mk1

Jun 7, 2021
C&C 30 Halifax
I recently bought a 1973 C&C 30 Mk 1, but the wheel nut has been lost during transport. Does anyone know where I could source a replacement? I’ve measured the shaft as 3/4”-10. Edson Marine appears to sell them (Stainless Steel Wheel Nut - 3/4"-10 Shaft Threads) but I called and they said it’s actually for a shaft that tapers from 1” to 3/4”. The shaft on mine has no taper.

As a last resort, I’ll get in touch with a stainless steel fabricator to have something made, but I thought I’d see if anyone on here has any suggestions.

Congratulations on your new sailboat!!

Do you know if your shaft looks like this "tapered" shaft? If so, the wheel cap nut you identified will likely work.

Looks like its a 1 inch shaft with a 3/4" threads for the wheel cap nut?
