Hi Everyone, I'm new to this site and wanted to ask if any O'day owners have ever had to replace their motor? I have a 1982 O'Day 37' Center Cockpit Sloop that has a Universal Atomic 4 cylinder Diesel motor. The motor seized up on my when I was motor sailing last year, I am trying to find out if there is a system for replacing these motors. There is no way to remove the Center Cockpit without cutting the fiberglass flooring, so the motor either has to come through the galley openings (removing part of the cabinets and countertops) or the flooring of the cockpit/helm area could be cut away and refabricated by a good fiberglass professional. Anyone have any experience or advice on this? I'd really appreciate all input. I love my boat and have thought about removing everything attached to the motor, then removing the head, pulling out the block and seeing if this motor can be rebuilt, then possibly re-installing the motor after a rebuild - torquing the head on in place after installing the block, etc..... If anyone could guide me in the right direction I'd sure appreciate it. Happy sailing to you all, Rick
