Has anyone replaced the plexiglass in the ports on a Hunter25. I would appreciate an idea of how to go about it and how tuff this will be. Also is there a special type I should use?

Are you asking about replacing just the "glass" in the opening Gray portlights? I don't remember any of the H25s having fixed ports. I do recall that some owners have removed opening ports and installed fixed ports. Maybe that is what you have.

If it is the opening ports that you are wanting to upgrade I have never heard of anyone doing that. The exact replacements are still available: http://www.pompanette.com/bomar . But I don't think parts like just the hinged opener with the "glass" are even orderable. You could call Pompanette.

A lot has been written about trying to improve the glass. Meguiar's polish is often mentioned. Are you fixing leaks or transparency?

The ports are fixed and do not open. It seems to be a grey lens. They are in pretty bad shape and appear to "shattered" although solid. Is it just a matter of removing the screws from the interior side and taking out the plexi and bringing it to a local shop or do they sell a replacement online?

So there were some years with both openers and fixed portlights? My own '79 H37C has all openers. At any rate you will find articles on here and many of them mention Mark Plastics( http://www.socalsail.com/bg/co/mark-plastics/ ) They actually made the plastics for many boats and may have your pattern. Use "Search" here on HOW for "fixed portlights" to see some other info.
