Has anyone replaced the keel cable on a Clipper Marine 21? Since it isn't made anymore, what cable and shackle will fit...Catalina, Mac or what? Sure will appreciate any tips.

I probably have, but have forgotten. I remember making that little hatch door where the mast slides into the sliding companionway hatch from scratch once for a guy. Anyway, you should replace the old cable and fittings with similar pieces that are new. When you remove what is there, then just duplicate it new. I don't recall if it was wire or rope, nor how it attached (knot or shackle, etc.). But, if you take it apart you will see what was used and then go from there.

i have the clipper marine....i just passed the cable through the hole in keel...(used a thimble) and used two cable clamps..all availiable at your local industrial supplier..3/16 cable...i took out the hand crank winch plugged the hole and mounted a 2000 lb 12v mini winch..(same mounting)..word of advise..if you ever drop your keel for any reason...make sure the fibreglass shims go back in the sides of keel on swivel bolt no matter how hard it is...and make sure to see how much play with new swivel bolt and hole in keel in case you need to take care of some sloppy clearences..its a great great little boat...we took out all the carpet and install ceder tongue and groove vertical on the sides in the cockpit..you can see pics of boat in my albums in my profile

ps...with the two cable clamps the keel still comes up far enough and the clamps do not interfere with the pulley and the keel is plenty high to get your boat on and off the trailer
