Well, hello stranger!

Hello there Peggie! I see you've earned a new monniker here ("Headmistress"). If you get out of line, I just might be persuaded to tell them your old nickname! How is "Solitaire"? Emilya and I are selling our Cape Dory 27 "Abigail", and may be buying a Hunter 37 cutter. How's the Lake these days?

Ye gods! :)

It's "old home week" on the 'net! First Brion Lutz shows up on boatered.com...and now you here! How ARE you???? Actually, it was "Boating" magazine (the boating mag for those with an overload of testosterone) who gave me the name "Head Mistress." Gosh, it's good to see you again! E-mail me at peghall@scbcglobal.net and we'll catch up!

Choosing the size tank...

You weren't the first owner of your boat...you aren't likely to be the last. And no one has ever complained that their holding tank is too big. Ronco tanks, unless abused, last for decades, and the cost difference between the smallest tank that will fit the space and the largest is so minimal as to be a non-issue compared to the cost of a new larger tank, not to mention the hassle of replacing it. So size the holding tank to the BOAT, not just to your own expected use of it...put the largest tank that will fit in the space. There's no rule that says you have fill it up, but the next owner may need the extra capacity.

Ronco B278

Chet, I made cardboard mockups, and although I thought some larger tanks would fit, when it came down to brass tacks this 10-gallon tank was the largest one that would go into the existing space. I didn't want to have to expand the shower seat area, move thruhulls or put the tank in one of the V-berth lockers. For me, it was a great solution and I have a completely odor-free boat. But I recognize that the tank is on the small size for what some sailors might want. thanks for the help

Thanks to all for the help. Does the seat of the shower come out? it looks as it does. Remove the wood strips on the sides and cut the silcone sealing on the sides. Any one tried that to get to the tank? Seems there are lots of folks with this problem with the H37C model. Thanks again Steve
