I noticed the metal that attatches to the Boom End Cap and then onto my Topping Lift is showing signs of fatigue. I ordered a new Boom End from Catalina Direct. I know I am going to have trouble getting the screws out, and I am also going to have to re-crimp the Outhaul where it attatches to the sail. I figured if I can get the Boom End Cap off I could take the entire Boom off and bring it to my local West Marine where they can crimp on a new eye. I have never bben happy with the entire Outhaul System on the 30 (1989) would it make sense to now overhaul the entire system. Is there anything out there that woould work better. I know I can also purchase a new Gooseneck, but what about the "guts" inside the Boom. I belive there is a block as well as some pullys. Also, the current cam Cleat that secures the 1/4" Outhaul Tail is always coming loose. There has to be a better way. Any ideas?
