I would like to replace the two teak trimrings on the inside of the cockpit. They are old and really beat up. I thought I would replace them with the white plastic rings. Is it hard to get these off without breaking something? Also between the bottom of the trim rings and the seats, the fiberglass (or gelcoat) is flacking in places. What would be the best way to repair this problem. Has this happened to anyone else, or am I just lucky? Thanks Dale

how durable are the plastic rings?

My coaming box teak rings are in similar condition. Maybe someone can answer these questions related to the same topic. Are the plastic rings designed to fit over the old teak rings? Do you remove the old teak rings prior to installing the new platic rings?

Plastic Rings

I installed the plastic rings a year ago. I like them. I purchased mine from Catalina Direct, and they came with 5200 for intallation. It didn't take long for them to come off, so I reinstalled the rings with liquid nails. They are secure now. David
