Replacing starboard rope clutch

The clutch for my main halyard refuses to stay in the open position which makes it difficult to drop the sail when single -handing. As a temporary solution, I swapped it into the clutch and block for the Spinnaker halyard. I think I can find a quad clutch online and would like to replace it when on the hard. I understand that the OEM clutch is screwed into a threaded plate glassed into the deck. I understand, further, it can be difficult to remove the original clutch without stripping the threads in the plate. Has anyone replaced their starboard clutch and, if so, what are some pointers to do it successfully? Also, any advice on what model replacement clutch to get? Catalina Direct doesn't seem to carry a quad clutch. I want see if I can match up the mounting holes. Thanks!

My 320 used Garhauer single clutches with the gray bodies, those will malfunction as you decribe if the allen head screws at pivot points are loose which they have tendency to do. I think Catalina used Garhauer.

As above, I would try and fix the problem first. And if replacing is the only solution then I would rather have separate ones so that if one breakes you do not have to replace all four.
If you decide to replace one and the holes do not match, you can caulk one hole and drill a new one.

Perhaps send a picture to Garhauer and ask their tech support if in fact it is their product and ask for advice?

And, I wouldn't "caulk" a hole in the deck. I would over-drill it and fill it with epoxy.
