replacing standard horizon wind indicator

Got great help in replacing my SH depth display with a Raymarine ST60.

Now the Standard Horizon wind display is acting up. It freezes up. always seemed inaccurate regardless of how I adjusted it.

So, the question: Can I use the existing SH hardware up the mast with a new Raymarine ST display?

I guess misery loves company, ours started acting up last season. Had the mast down over the winter. Check the instrument by plugging in at the unit and was able to linearize and calibrate successfully. Seems now the issue is the cable. Mast is back up. Unit doesn't work. Ready to move on.
