I have a 1988 Cat 30 and need to replace 3 stanchions including the one with the breather for the head/holding tank. Is the Catalina factory the only option? Thanks, Bill

http://garhauermarine.com/catalog.cfm Garhauer Marine made mine. Outstanding work and not that expensive. They even called me to make sure they had the base right for my C30

You may have them welded...

...if they are in OK shape. I just had 1 of mine done. It cost me $100. I see from the Garhauer website that I could have just bought the base for $27. Crap. I should have checked with you guys at this site before I had it done! Oh well, its only money. -Rob

I don't know how bad your 3 stanchions are, but I have straightened mine on several occasions myself. When mine have been bent it was the base which was no longer flat, there was no bend in the vertical. I took them off, brought them home and carefully hammered and using a vise too was able to repair them. I decided to go this route because on my 83 Catalina 30 the new stanchions would really stand out from the oringinal ones.

The originals were probably made by

Railmakers in Costa Mesa, have to call them for prices

Factory may not be the only source but probably is the best. You can be sure that the angles are right and the holes are aligned properly. I just bought a couple from Tidewater Marina Havre de Grace, MD last time I was out there. They are a large Catalina dealer. Dick N.
