Replacing rollers on top of mast? DS II

Hi all,
I'm a sailing newbie so please pardon my poor terminology. I have a 1970's? Daysailor II that I have refurbished (thanks to all who suggested I go see Rudy for those hard to get parts!). Anyway, at the top of the mast there are those two plastic roller things that allow you to hoist the mainsail using the halyard (did I get that part correct?) The edges of these are pretty beat up so that the hoisting part is not as smooth as it should be. I want to replace them and it looks like I have two options: 1) drill out the pins/rivets for each of them and replace with new pins or bolts of some sort, or 2) Remove the entire top assembly that contains the rollers and replace with a new assembly, which will involve drilling out different rivets and replacing accordingly. Suggestions on where to buy the roller things and/or the top assembly as a unit? Ideas on best route to take? I can take pictures but I'm sure you all know the parts I'm talking about. Thanks in advance.

Drill out the rivets for each of them, find replacement sheaves at West Marine and use bolts and nuts to install.

Thanks Benny! Yes, 'sheaves" is the word I was looking for. I've bought things from West Marine before so will check them out now.

I'll echo that advice, except use clevis pins for the axles on the sheaves, that is what I did on my old Widgeon. Also make sure to check whether a center bearing is needed for the sheaves (some need them, some don't) that caught me when I replaced the sheave on the mainsheet block for my Widgeon. Rudy has those sheaves at D&R ($3.90 each) or you could get them from Dwyer Spars (www.dwyermast.com). Dwyer is where Rudy gets his spar parts (they made a lot of rigs for O'DAY) and being in Connecticut will be closer to you and MAYBE quicker shipping? Although depending on how busy he is that day, Rudy is pretty good at getting things shipped quick! If you call him (508) 644-3001, or follow up your on-line order with a call, he may include the clevis pins with the sheaves)
WEST Marine may not have the right size from my experience, just one reason I often refer to them as "worst" Marine.

Thanks Sunbird. BTW, your boat has been an inspiration for me as I went through the process of getting the Red Pearl seaworthy. Still working on a few things (the ring at the bow of the boat that you attach the trailer winch to is loose so I have to cut out part of the wall behind the bow so I can get in and replace it), but it sails nice so far. I bought a used boom with a pretty beat up mainsail from Rudy since the boom and rudder/tiller* were missing when I got the boat (*also bought these from Rudy) and bought a new jib with lines from Rudy too. Anyway, I measured the sheaves and they are like 1.5" diameter and 3/8" wide, but I have not removed them yet so I can't see the diameter of the inside hole, or whether they have bearings or not, I doubt that they do. Without bearings West Marine has what looks like the correct part for like $3.95. Have not had time to get the drill out yet and don't want to order until I'm sure of what I'm replacing.
