If you're interested in saving hundreds of dollars on new rigging, consider finding a local industrial rigger to build it for you. Many of them are very experienced in working with stainless steel because it's become a popular architectural railing material and they don't charge you extra for putting it on a boat

Besides eliminating the hassle of measuring and/or shipping your old rig, you also support a local business.
Here's a comparison of example costs from last Fall:
Catalina Direct: $4.00/ft. complete
West Marine: $1.02/ft. cable only
McMaster-Carr: $0.85/ft. cable only
Local industrial rigger: $1.13/ft. complete
I had great results and explain the process in
Standing rigging replacement on my blog. In fact, I'm having them make a few small customizations to my rig right now. It's nice to be able to describe them face to face.
