I need to replace cracked plexiglass in the forward hatch of an 88 Catalina 30. I can get replacement plexi cut to measure and handle holes drilled locally. I would like advice on how to best rebed the new plexi. The current plexi glass seems to float in the frame on a rubbery compound. Any advice on prep. prep materials, best bedding adhesive and process would be appreciated. I'm a handy guy but this is new territory for me.

Thanks

Try a auto glass store.

In 2002 we needed the same repair on our IP38 forward hatch. We were in the Fla. Keys and took it to a national auto glass store and to my suprize they did the job. It cost $45 and they even installed the panel into the framework. It might be worth a phone call or two.
