I am considering changing the original harken furler to a Facnor STG 3T wire furler, so I can use a larger headsail in light winds, but the main reason is so I can remove the jib when the boat is not in use. I am wandering if anyone else is using a facnor wire furler and if so would you recommend the change. Tom

Jib Block Placement

Tom, how are you planning to alter the placement of the jib blocks to accommodate the larger headsail?

...is a great idea for off wind work especially in light air when a genoa just dies. Of course, jibing with wide jibe angles will be needed but it beats a flogging genoa. No need to move any blocks, just add a pair at the rear and adjustable twings to change the lead angle.
