Before next launch (May 2014) I plan to replace the non-functioning Tridata instrument - Depth/Speed/Log display and transducers with the new Raymarine i50 Tridata instrument package. The package includes the transducers P319 (Depth) and P120 (Speed).
Before purchasing this package I would like to know if the new tranducers will fit into the existing thru-hulls. Any relevant information will be appreciated.

Depends on what you have now?
Raymarine use Airmar transducers, not sure what other manufacturers use.

What's your slip, we were 223, but moving to 319 next year.

Do a search Airmar transducers and you will find a list and specks on the model
transducers that you mention and than get the # off the top of the transducer
that you have on your boat and than you can compare the hole size.
I just changed my transducers and both were 2'' hole size so was easy to change out no needing to drill anything.
My boat is 2007 H-36 with ST60 instruments.

Re: Airmar

Hi Nick
Thanks for your response. I have not been able (as yet) to determine what transducers were installed by Hunter way back in 1995, but I am pretty sure that the thru-hulls are the standard 2 inch, so I believe that the ones supplied by Raymarine will fit OK. If not, I will just have to get creative.
Cheers, Bob

Hi Scott,
I am still in the research phase, but feel fairly confident that the new transducers from Raymarine will do the job.
My sailboat (Rosheen) is at the floating dock C, slip C06 - not far from the gas dock.
Hope we can meet next later this year.

Ah, ok. I remember seeing a Hunter over there, but didn't remember the name.
Talked to Mike ( Assitant Mgr ) at the Tor Boat Show and he said they were out with snow rakes removing snow from all the boats after the heavy dumps they got. I'm heading up this weekend to check on ours, haven't been up this winter yet.
Will see you in the spring.

I replaced my ST 50s with the new i50s and i60 wind. The RayMarine follks said that the transducers would probably not fit in the same hole- however the good news is that the old transducers work with the new instruments . You can query the raymarine technical forum and they will give the answer for your particular model instruments

Hi, I'm thinking of replacing my older Autohelm instruments with the new equipment. Are you happy with your new devices?

I've just replaced all instruments and the autopilot course computer on my boat. I had to replace the transducers as well. In my case ( H410, 1999) the original transducers had a diameter of 43 millimeters (if I recall it correctly). There are different diameters for the new transducers. Some are still on the 43 mill size, some are 2" in diameter. You need to take a close look at the specs. You also need to figure out, whether the new transducers do need a signal conversion box. I installed a new network ( SeaTalk NG) and i70 instruments. Thus I had to go for the converter iTC5 box as well.
The guys on the Raymarine forum are very helpful.
Good luck!

The new speed xducers have a temp sensor, which the auto helm didn't have.
Also, I don't think the auto helm through hull fittings had the auto closing valve which limits water flow when the xducer is pulled.
Plan on replacing the through hull fittings.

Artboas,
my old transducers had temp. Sensing capabilities and a valve for the speed sensor. But I don't actually know, how old they were. I gree with you, to alsays replace the whole part, incl. the through hull part, to avoid any surpruse when launching the boat again
