Replacing lettering

After the letters and Stripe are removed, how do you replace the stripe/lettering to make sure they are level. Is there a way to mark the position to use as a guide which could be removed once the stripe was applied?

The easiest way to do it is to have a boat graphics or sign shop cut the new letters out of vinyl. They could probably apply them for you for a few extra $$. It can be tricky if you've never done it, and you can ruin them pretty easily if you're not careful. Its like anything else, there's tricks to it that you learn after doing a lot of them. But you could use a grease pencil or tape to mark the locations if you do it yourself.
