Hi All, I have 1993 Hunter 30T Sailboat. I just discovered that the holding tank needs to be replaced. Has anyone run into this before and have any suggestions on removal and replacement?

Measure your tank, after sketching a diagram.
Odds are good that Ronco has it on hand. Ronco Marine Tanks - Plastic Tanks for Boats, Yachts, Sailboats

Look at all sides of yours for a model number, molded into the surface.
I was able to replace our stock tank with a larger one, and also relocate the gozinta and gozouta fittings in much better locations for an improved hose route scheme.

I don't THINK Ronco ever made tanks for Hunter. I'm pretty sure they got 'em from DuraWeld who, according to their website, is no longer making one-off tanks..their minimum order is 24 tanks.

I'd go with Ronco Ronco Plastics marine Tanks They make TOP quality thick-walled water and waste tanks for a very reasonable price and have more than 400 shapes and sizes, over 100 of which are non-rectangular, and they install fittings in the sizes and locations specified by the customer when they make the tank. There are retailers who sell Ronco tanks, but Ronco sells direct for a much lower price...and they're great to work with.
When looking at drawings it's important to know that there is no top or bottom until the fittings go in, and YOU decide where they go. So rotate, flip in any orientation to find the tank that fit your space.

I replaced the holding tank on my last boat and bought the replacement from Plasti-Mart Plastic Tanks Distributor | Poly Tanks, Steel Tanks, Water Tanks They were good to work with, customized the tank to fit what I needed, good price and 10 years later when I sold the boat still no leaks or odors.

Make sure the replacement tank will fit in the space but also make sure you can get it there through the main hatch and around any other obstacles in the boat. I moved the tank and made it bigger than the OEM tank so I made a carboard mockup outside then carried it onto the boat and into position to make sure.

I replaced the holding tank on our 1992 Hunter 30T several years ago. Peggy is correct as it was a metal tank. I replaced it with a Ronco plastic tank with inlet and outlet fitting location which I provided on a drawing. Getting the old tank out was a chore for sure. Mine is located under the battery locker. I took the floor out and used a mini grinder to cut up the old tank. Once the old tank was out, getting the new tank in and connected was fairly straightforward.
There’s a link on the Hunter Owners website posted by someone who went in thru the bulkhead of the aft cabin, then made up a permanent access panel. Great idea, but lots of work.

Hi All, Sorry for not getting back sooner with this update. I did replace the holding tank in my Hunter Sailboat. I installed a Trionic Marine Holding Tank . It actually turned out to be easier then I anticipated. I also replaced most of the hoses and installed a SCAD TM1 holding tank external fill sensor as well. Thankyou for all of your thoughts and suggestions.
