We need to replace the headliners in a 1992 Prout Event and a 1985 Mac25. The panels in the Prout are OK, but the foam backing for the vinyl has disintegrated. The 'carpet' used in the Mac is just ratty. We're considering scraping/sanding to remove the old glue down to the raw fiberglas and then coating with a high-solids flexible paint like Sherwin Williams HST. Can we tap into anyone's experience out there? Any ideas on additives for eliminating mildew in the future? Thanks for your input.

try www.yourautotrim.com for a variety of marine and auto vinyls, carpeting and adhesives. You can order 3" by 5" samples for about $0.25 each.

Hey Don, Go to archives, type headliners into the search. There have been a few discussions and suggestions. Cheers, jcm
