Replacing engine in Oday 39

I have pulled the universal 5444 engine out of my ODay 39. I am considering replacing it with a 56 HP Yanmar. Has anyone any experience in swapping engines in the larger ODays? Any recommendations regarding whether I should buy a new universal or go with the Yanmar? ThanksBob Hoffmeisterrhoff@bu.edu

Rebuild Universal

I'm uncertain what a higher horsepower engine would do for you? The Universal 5444 already has more power than needed to obtain hull speed. My 5444 was just rebuilt when I purchased my 39. So far so good, I have added another 100hrs without issue. Rebuild of existing might be cheaper, and you will not have the issues mentioned earlier...engine mounts, transmission ect.Either way-good luck, would be intersted in your final decision and results
