I have a Hunter 460 and have to replace the steering ball joints. The one closest to the wheel is on a pin facing down and the nut bottoms out before you can remove. Does anyone know if that pin is made to be removed
Can you take a picture? I do a lot of car work and have removed quite a few ball joints, but don't fully understand the current layout of the ball joint or your comment that the nut bottoms out before it can be removed.
Thanks for the reply Mike. The nut bottoms out on the bottom of floor below it. Edson replied that I have to loosen and try to raise the output lever at the very bottom of pedestal. Thanks again
Just went through this on my 410. On the 410 you have to drop the output lever to change that. That means raising the down shaft. If you haven't dealt with it here is the thread on it.
