replacing cover(s) for hiking straps

Looks like a solution as, say 4 new Zhik straps would cost $200 minimum (although they do provide a great deal of grip).
Had a look at photos of people sailing these boats and it seems that you really hang your arse over the rail. If it was me, I'd renew the hiking straps themselves as I have an aversion to falling in the water (strange attitude for a sailor, I know-LOL).
I feel very secure when I have to sit on the rail with my feet under the Zhik straps:
