I have a 1983 C-27 (Hull #5258) that has dockside power with an AC main breaker located on the port side (inside the companionway just above the icebox). I would like to replace this with a larger panel that includes a main breaker and 3-4 separate breakers ( one each for outlets port/starboard, one for a battery charger, and one for a water heater). My question is does anyone else have this setup? Do I have enough room to expand the hole already there from the one main breaker? If so, are there any recommendations as to what panel to use (or go custom) and what values for each breaker should I use? Any other additional info regarding this project would be most appreciated.
