Ahoy, mates! Up the top of this year's pre-season project list is replacing the water heater on my 322. The unit that's now in there, FWIW, is an Atwood 6-gallon model. It's deep inside a port-quarter cockpit locker, and after doing some preliminary measurements, it looks like removal and replacement will be an interesting chore. Most 6-gallon units I've seen advertised are about 13.25 inches square, give or take. The opening into said locker is about 10.5 inches in its narrowest dimension, give or take. Which leads me to believe the heater was installed via the lazarette, which has an opening of about 16 inches, and then muscled or slid back into position. The problem there, though, is that the lazarette is also home to the boat's AC unit, which is in the way of easy installation of the new heater. So, the question to all my usually very helpful O'day brethren is: how easy would it be to uninstall the AC, and move it out of the way, in order to get the new water heater into position?
