Hunter 42 Passage Channel Islands
I’m looking to replace my raymarine auto pilot in my 1991 Hunter passage 42. According to specs the Passage weighs 24,000 lbs. The two autopilot’s I’m looking at are the M81131 for boats up to 33,000 lbs. and the M81130 which is rated for boats up to 24,000 lbs. The original is one of these except the previous owner painted white all over the housing making it hard to replace to original. Has anyone replace one of these before and which model did you use?

Don't know anything about your numbers but a Raymarine Type II drive motor with course computer will work.

Our 1991 P42 original Autohelm (now Raymarine) 7000 linear drive motor and course computer with 6000 head still doing its job here. Were it need replacing, I would go with one as close to the original. Our boat displaces 35,000 pounds cruise ready and the AP does a fine job when needed. Have you done any trouble shooting to determine the frozen cause?
