I pulled the check valve out of my forward head because it was back flowing back into to bowl,I cleaned it the best that I could and put it back on the lines ( I tried to buy a new one but being it's a Beneteau you can't just walk into west marine and get a new one,so I gotta order a new one from Beneteau ) getting back to my issue, the water won't go down the pipes when I flushed ,what'd I do wrong hopefully someone can help with this issue...

Beneteau makes the boat, they don't make the head.

However, my guess is that for a 2013 boat (head) it was just a piece of waste which was holding the check open. Should be fine after it's cleaned.

If you want to keep a spare duck bill valve (check valve) on board, check the brand and model of the head, collect up all the credit cards and spare cash you can lay your hands on and head down to WM and prepare to be fleeced.

As to the problem of not passing, I second it as being in backwards. Nasty job, you rush, it happens .

If its a Jabsco head, buy a Jabsco rebuild kit. Try this site for pricing.
Better yet, scrap the entire Jabsco and buy a different brand.

The duck bill valve is called a joker valve. They are about $16 for a replacement if your head is a Jabsco. They have them at West Marine. They will go bad every few years. When they do you pump the head, then, all of the waste that is in the waste tube going to the holding tank comes back into the bowl. It will not overflow the bowl fortunately. As per the other reply it has to be installed in the proper direction....not sure if it is possible to put in backwards. If that does not work then you can look at a rebuild kit for the entire pump: $72 or a whole new pump for $110. The rebuild kit has a bunch of parts including the joker valve. The new pump is a very simple plug and play swap out and was worth every extra penny when I needed to fix my Jabsco pump. It also comes with a joker valve.

Thanks for all the answers and help, first there's no way to put it in backwards, there are two different size hoses one smaller than the other,so it can only go in one way,I did try to get a new one at WM but didn't carry the one I needed,I am going to try the joker valve next to see if that will do it ,beyond that I'm stumped,so thanks for all the advice ...

Not going to give up on this one yet as these things are not that complicated.

First, can you tell us what make and model the head is ? This wil solve 90+% of the problem as we can then easily pull up the manual for it and then speak a whole lot more intelligently about it.

Second, that item doesn't look like a common joker valve nor do the white lines look like waste lines. Can't tell what it is. Can you tell us exactly which line that black item is located in ie. pump inlet, pump outlet, bowl inlet, or other etceteras ?

I'm willing to place money on it that there is sufficient knowledge on this site to solve the problem via the internet at the ideal price. Without the high priced, low skilled help.

Try to imagine solving this problem, in this manner, just twenty years ago. And how will we do it twenty years from now. ?

That check valve in the photo is outside the head itself. The joker valve is inside the pump assembly and looks like the "cootie catcher" folded paper toys that kids used to make. It's on the downstream side between the pump and the line to the holding tank. There is another flopper valve below the hand pump (assuming its a Jabsco head).

Both of those "rubber" devices, in addition to clogging, can be deformed by antifreeze used in winterizing.
