It was a beautiful sail on the Chesapeake Bay but trimming the main by moving the traveler seemed a little hard. Has anyone upgraded the original 2 pulley to 3 pulley system?

I didn't do that, but I did remove the pulley sets and the car and replaced the sheave wheels after cleaning up everything and lubricating with lithium grease; replaced the line, and everything is much smoother.. I got the sheave wheels from APS (RIP) .. They used to carry a fine selection of sheave wheels.. A couple of the wheels had cracked and were not letting the rope move well.

If you do decide to upgrade, and a few H-34 guys have, have the bar custom drilled so that the hold-down screws fit correctly into the embedded plates in the glass ..

I bought the new car and 3:1 system through Rutgerson. Was able to keep the stock track. Works like new.

I did it. I went with Harken. Much better. Also use a tall track to get the car up out of the groove.
